This permit allows collection, possession and transportation of marine organisms [Diamond stingray (Gymnura natalensis), Blue stingray (Dasyatis chrysonota)] as outlined on DFFE permit RES2026/58 for the purpose of bona fide research subjected to the provisions and regulations of the following laws:

b) The National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998)
c) The National Environment Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004 (Act No. 10 of 2004)
d) The National Environment Management: Protected Areas Act, 2003 (Act No. 57 of 2003)
e) The Sea Birds and Seals Protection Act, 1973 (Act No. 46 of 1973)
f) The Prevention of Pollution from Ships Act, 1986 (Act No. 2 of 1986)
g) The National Environment Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008 (Act No. 24 of 2008)

This permit is intended to facilitate bona fide research and should not be used for the purposes of financial gain by the permit holder. Exact species covered by the collection permit outline in permit number Res2026/58.

- Scientific investigation or practical experiment which includes the collection, possession and transportation of marine species; Diamond stingray (Gymnura natalensis) and Blue stingray (Dasyatis chrysonota).
- The summary of the research findings and outcomes including the dates, locations, species and quantities collected should be submitted to the Issuing Authority.
- No specimens should be used in any other bioprospecting context.
- The permit excludes collection and transportation of any abalone species.
Species collected in terms of this permit shall not be sold or offered for sale.
The specimens will be send to the below Institution in the Hong Kong for bona fide research:
